Why an analog clock face?
A round dial shows the time as a shape, so a quick look tells you how much of the hour is left without reading a single number. That is handy when you want to keep half an eye on the time while you get on with something else. It also just looks like a proper wall clock, which suits a kitchen, studio, or living room far better than glowing digits.
A calm, low-glare clock
The hands and dial start out a soft, low-contrast grey, so the clock is easy on the eyes and will not light up a dark room. Use the brightness slider and color presets to match the mood of the room: a dim warm face for the evening, a brighter one for a bright desk during the day.
Burn-in and full-screen use
Because the second hand sweeps around without stopping, most of the face is always moving, which helps spread the wear on a screen left on for a long time. In full screen the whole clock also drifts slowly around the display and bounces off the edges, so no part of the dial sits in one place, and it stays dim by default. You can turn that drift off or fine-tune it in the settings, which makes the clock safe to leave running as an ambient display on a spare phone, tablet, or monitor.
Why doesn’t it open full screen on its own?
Almost every modern browser only lets a page go full screen in response to something you do, like a tap or a click, and never on its own. It is a built-in privacy and security rule, not something this site can switch off, so a page can’t jump straight to full screen the moment it loads. The good news is that it only ever costs you one click: as long as you do not want to change any settings, you pick your color or clock and it fills the screen right away.

Those live in your browser’s localStorage so the tool can remember how you like it next time. They never leave your browser, they are never sent to us or shared with anyone, and you can wipe them any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
